My Priorities
Public Safety & First Responders - supporting Dakota County Sheriff’s Office
Public safety is one of the most important responsibilities of local government. Every family deserves to feel safe in their homes, neighborhoods, schools, parks, and businesses.
I strongly support our first responders and emergency personnel who serve our communities every day. Growing up in a military family, I was raised with the deepest respect for service, responsibility, and sacrifice. Those values continue to shape my approach to leadership.
I believe we must ensure our first responders have the staffing, training, resources, and community support needed to do their jobs effectively and safely.
I also believe strong public safety includes addressing the challenges that impact community well-being before they become crises. Through my work in the mental health field, I have seen firsthand how access to mental health services, early intervention, and community support systems can strengthen families and improve public safety outcomes for everyone.
We do not have to choose between supporting law enforcement and supporting mental health services - strong communities require both. I believe in practical, balanced leadership that brings people together, focuses on solutions, and keeps Dakota County a safe, strong, and thriving place to live.
Fraud
Identifying, investigating, and prosecuting fraud at every level must be prioritized, regardless of who is involved or where the fraud occurs.
Through my work, I have seen firsthand how important oversight and integrity are within publicly funded systems. I have personally identified concerning practices and worked to report potential fraud to the appropriate authorities.
As a business owner and nonprofit founder, I understand the importance of financial responsibility, transparency, and strong oversight. We can support important community programs while also demanding accountability to ensure taxpayer dollars are protected.
I believe Dakota County residents deserve leadership that takes fraud seriously, supports ethical stewardship of public funds, and is willing to ask hard questions. Accountability and compassion are not opposing values as strong communities require both.
Responsible Growth
Lakeville is one of the fastest growing communities in Minnesota, and with that growth comes both opportunity and responsibility. I support thoughtful, responsible growth that strengthens our community while preserving the qualities that make Dakota County such a great place to live, work, and raise a family.
As a small business owner, nonprofit founder, and parent raising children in this community, I understand how important it is to balance residential growth, commercial development, infrastructure, public safety, parks, schools, and quality of life. Growth should be intentional, well-planned, and sustainable - not rushed or short-sighted.
I support smart commercial development that brings good jobs, strengthens our local economy, expands our tax base, and supports small businesses. I also believe residential growth must be paired with responsible planning for roads, public services, emergency response, and community resources so that growth does not outpace our ability to support it.
We need leadership that listens to residents, works collaboratively with local businesses and community stakeholders, and plans for the future with long-term stability in mind. I believe we can continue to grow while still protecting the character, safety, and strong sense of community that families value in Lakeville and throughout Dakota County.
Mental Health
Mental health impacts every part of a community - our families, schools, workplaces, public safety systems, and overall quality of life.Working in the mental health field, I have seen firsthand both the growing need for services and the barriers many individuals and families face when trying to access care.
Mental health services should focus on early intervention, crisis prevention, and connecting people with the right level of care before challenges escalate into larger problems affecting families, schools, healthcare systems, or public safety resources.
Supporting community mental health services is not only the compassionate thing to do, it is also a practical investment in healthier families, safer communities, and stronger outcomes.
Dakota County has an important role to play in supporting residents during difficult times, and I believe we must continue building systems that are responsive, effective, and focused on helping people move forward successfully.
Protect small businesses - remove bureaucratic red tape that hinders small business opportunity
Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy and play a vital role in the strength and character of our communities. As a small business owner myself, I understand the risks, hard work, and determination it takes to build something from the ground up.
I have helped many professionals navigate the complex process of starting and sustaining their businesses. I have seen firsthand how unnecessary bureaucracy, excessive red tape, and inefficient processes can delay growth, discourage innovation, and create barriers for entrepreneurs trying to serve their communities.
I believe local government should be a partner in helping businesses succeed, not an obstacle standing in the way. That means promoting efficient processes, practical regulations, transparency, and responsible decision-making that supports economic growth while still protecting the interests of residents and the community.
I support thoughtful commercial development, strong local businesses, and policies that encourage entrepreneurship, job creation, and long-term economic stability in Dakota County. When small businesses succeed, our entire community benefits through stronger local economies, expanded opportunities, and increased investment in the places we call home.
As County Commissioner, I will support a balanced, commonsense approach that encourages growth, reduces unnecessary barriers, and helps Dakota County remain a place where businesses, families, and communities can thrive.
Libraries
Public libraries are one of the most valuable and accessible resources a community can offer. They are more than just buildings with books - they are places of learning, opportunity, connection, and community for people of all ages and backgrounds.
Strong libraries help build strong communities. Libraries support early childhood literacy, lifelong learning, workforce development, access to technology, and educational opportunities that benefit families throughout Dakota County.
Libraries also serve as important community gathering spaces where residents can learn, connect, study, access resources, and participate in programs that enrich our communities. In a rapidly growing area like Lakeville and Dakota County, maintaining strong public libraries is an investment in both our current residents and future generations.
I support responsible investment in public libraries while ensuring taxpayer dollars are used effectively and transparently. I believe libraries should continue evolving to meet the changing needs of our communities while remaining welcoming, accessible, and community-focused spaces.
Strong communities are built through education, connection, and opportunity — and public libraries remain an important cornerstone of all three.
Parks - community space
Public parks are an essential part of healthy, connected, and thriving communities. They provide spaces where families gather, children play, neighbors connect, and residents of all ages can enjoy the outdoors, stay active, and improve their overall well-being.
As someone who prioritizes and values fitness, healthy living, and time spent outdoors with family, I understand how important parks, trails, and green spaces are to quality of life in Dakota County. In a fast-growing community like Lakeville, preserving and thoughtfully expanding our parks and recreational spaces is an important investment in both our current residents and future generations.
Parks contribute to physical health, mental well-being, public safety, and community connection. They also help strengthen neighborhoods, support property values, and make our communities attractive places for families and businesses.
I support responsible investment in public parks, trails, and recreational amenities while ensuring taxpayer dollars are used wisely and projects are planned thoughtfully alongside community growth. As Dakota County continues to grow, we must continue protecting the spaces that bring people together and help maintain the strong sense of community that makes this area such a great place to live and raise a family.
Strong communities are built not only through infrastructure and development, but also through the shared spaces that improve everyday life for residents. Public parks are an important part of that foundation.
